of dreams and reality

Sharmishtha Basu is an unemployed artist, writer who is out to test her works, eager to meet publicists, literary agents, publishers and gallant, generous readers, to see if they can help her to build an “unorthodox” career, a path followed by many before, some has been blessed with success, most have not, let us see what you make of her attempts! A failure or success- it all depends on you. These are pieces from her book, the book is available on createspace and amazon- It is a collection of poems and black and white illustrations to go with them. Some are photographs, others paintings, cyber sketches mainly.

Of dreams and reality

They say we are flocks of sheep,
Are we truly?
They say we need a shepherd,
Do we need one desperately?

What if that shepherd is asleep
Right inside our mind, heart?
Waiting to be woken up?
So he could guide us through.

So many times it happens
Generations have been misguided
By monsters pretending to be shepherds,
Leading everyone to destruction.

Leaving behind bitter regrets,
Still people fall in these traps
Created by syrupy tongues
Joined with wily cunning!
